Chapter 3 -Spank Me, Daddy!

"Remember, I''ve been telling you boys I found my chosen mate?"

"That''s her—Scarlet Mintz—and this is her daughter Beatrice, who''s now your stepsister." Lord Vasquez had to sit us all down to explain things to his sons. I couldn''t escape Zane''s piercing stare.

I was practically hiding behind my mother as the two boys kept glaring at me.

"Dad? What''s going on?" Our attention suddenly turned to someone entering the living room. He was tall with extremely broad shoulders and a slim waist. You could tell he had a muscular build under those dress pants and white shirt. His blue eyes looked striking with his brown hair. Right behind him was another young man—tall and equally impressive. The sterling grey eyes of the guy behind the first one were so captivating that I couldn''t decide which one to focus on.

"Come, have a seat," Lord Vasquez offered them chairs, and the two guys in suits sat down. "These are Akin Spade and Helel Spade. They''re twins. Akin is a few minutes older than Helel," Lord Vasquez told us. The sterling grey-eyed guy who entered last was Akin with shining black hair, and the one before him was Helel. They looked pretty similar too.

Akin was probably 6''7" and Helel was 6''5". "These two are Maddox and Zane. They''re also twins, but Maddox is a few minutes older than Zane." He then pointed at another set of twins. Maddox was the guy I saw naked in the bedroom—the one with blue eyes. And Zane was the handsome jerk who bullied me and was now seething like a raging bull.

"Who are they, father?" Helel asked, his eyes doing a quick scan of me. I lowered my gaze when his eyes met mine.

When he asked that question, Zane let out a sarcastic laugh.

"That''s the bitch father settled on," Zane couldn''t hold it together any longer. His comment was met with a gasp from my mother.

"Zane!" Lord Vasquez yelled, warning him with his eyes.

"It''s true. This is the woman who''s taking our mother''s place, and that girl over there is our stepsister that our father wants us to protect and take care of. Isn''t it funny that the first thing she did was accuse Zane of harassing her? She got dad to hit Zane," Maddox, who I didn''t think would react so aggressively, started talking with tears of anger in his eyes. It''s true that the quiet ones are always the most dangerous.

"I''ve told you all—I''ve moved on from your mother. Now she is my everything, and you all have to respect that. Anyway, I''m not going to force you, so whichever one of you wants to go live with your mom, you''re welcome to pack your bags and leave," Lord Vasquez casually let them decide, and all four of them decided to get up until they heard their father say, "And forget about the Alpha King title."

They all sat down at the same speed they got up. These four had everyone''s attention as they were the future Alpha Kings of the North, South, East, and West.

"Good. We need to prepare for a family dinner tonight. Beatrice, your brothers are very creative and strong. You''ll love them all," he said. He knew what he was doing. He wanted us to communicate, but it was a terrible time to expect them to accept me. The four brothers looked my way and raised their brows in unison.

The brothers soon got up and went upstairs. I knew they were having a meeting. My mother and I stayed in the kitchen while dinner was being prepared.

After a few hours of silence and me standing in the corner like a scared kitten, after taking a quick shower in the guest room, dinner was served.

"Akin, my eldest, takes care of my business. He''s only 20 but he knows what he''s doing," Lord Vasquez praised the sterling grey-eyed handsome guy. He was the only one who hadn''t said a word to us.

"Helel, he''s also 20, but his interests differ from his brother''s. He does take care of business once in a while, but he''s a trainer. He trains our warriors. He''s also a gym instructor." He then looked at Helel, who was barely eating his salad. Helel had a very stoic expression. I don''t even know if he cared that we were here.

"Zane is the youngest of the twins. He''s 18 and loves traveling," Lord Vasquez introduced the one who bullied me at school.

"Maddox goes to the same school as you two. He''s 18 but a few minutes older than Zane and has a love for bikes." Lord Vasquez seemed to have held back when talking about his blue-eyed son. Maddox let out a scoff before interrupting his father.

"Just say it. I have an addiction that annoys my father." Maddox''s eyes flashed a weird color for a second before he lowered his head to avoid getting caught. But I saw it.

"Anyway," Lord Vasquez ignored his comment, but my mother and I shared a look.

"The reason I want you all to get comfortable around each other is that as a leader of the council, I''ve been summoned to look into matters among the western packs. Scarlet and I will be departing in the morning. I want you all to take care of your stepsister, Beatrice, while we''re gone." Lord Vasquez seemed way too comfortable when breaking this news to us.

I instantly shared a glance with my mother, who looked as shocked as I was.

"But she''s a bit fragile. She''s never been anywhere without me. It''s just that her wolf is unstable, so I have to be there for her and make sure her wolf doesn''t come out." My mom was rambling and making no sense. I noticed the look my stepbrothers shared when they realized my mother wasn''t comfortable leaving me behind with them.

"It''s alright, Mom! We promise to take care of her," it was Zane who spoke up. "Now that we know she''s our stepsister, we''ll keep her safe." That look he gave me made my skin crawl.

"And Helel can train her," Lord Vasquez didn''t help when he suggested his son would be my instructor for the next few days.

I started coughing after hearing all this chaos. I sleep in my mom''s room. How the hell am I going to sleep without her now?

"Perfect! Look how caring my sons are. Now let''s go rest. We have to wake up early tomorrow morning." Lord Vasquez seemed pleased with himself. I should have known he would be the controlling one in this relationship.

He got up from his seat and looked at my mother excitedly for her to follow him. She gave me a miserable look before heading out of the dining room with him.

Now I was sitting among my stepbrothers awkwardly.

"You need medicine to control your wolf. Then how did you feel the mate bond with Flynn when your wolf isn''t even allowed to come forward?"

After a long silence, Zane''s voice cut through the air, and my body froze.

"You didn''t tell your mother about the whole mate bond situation, did you?"

That smirk on his lips when he gained an advantage over me—knowing my mother had no idea and would be furious at me for not taking my medicine—was terrifying. I looked around and noticed all my future stepbrothers staring in my direction.
